Besides, with technology emerging as a key driver of innovation and revenue, we cannot overlook the importance of encouraging women to pursue STEAM careers.
However, it has been found that globally, in tertiary education, only 18% of the girls pursue science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) studies compared to 35% of boys. This leads to women constituting a modest 28% of the STEAM workforce.
Besides moral and ethical arguments which favor the diversity in STEAM, research reveals that lack of it could affect innovation and productivity in the future.
